'The Glee Project': Aylin Determined To Break Down Barriers And Stereotypes About Turkish Muslims (VIDEO)

'Glee Project': Aylin Wants To Break Down Stereotypes

Aylin continues to break down stereotypes on "The Glee Project" (Tue., 10 p.m. ET on Oxygen). The Turkish Muslim has shown her sexy side, making both the show's mentors and at least one contestant fall in love with her. Now that it's down to six, though, she faced perhaps her biggest challenge.

For "Romanticality" Aylin was paired up with a different woman for two romantic entanglements. Her struggles with authenticity in both relationships sent her into the bottom three, where Ryan Murphy asked her how her Muslim family would react to seeing her on the show.

While Aylin believed her mother would understand that it was acting, not everyone would feel the same way. "The family in Turkey?" she said. "Probably not gonna like me after watching this show."

But Aylin is committed to breaking down barriers and hopefully serve as a role model for other Turkish young girls out there who don't see anyone who looks like them on television. She's still in the hunt for the prize, as her video shoot partner Shanna went to the bottom for the first time and got booted from the show.

Only two episodes remain in "The Glee Project," Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET on Oxygen.

TV Replay scours the vast television landscape to find the most interesting, amusing, and, on a good day, amazing moments, and delivers them right to your browser.
