Before attending the 2012 London Olympics, many top athletes exercised their minds at colleges and universities across the country. Swimmer Michael Phelps, for instance, attended the University of Michigan as somewhat of a campus celebrity, having already medaled in the 2004 Athens Olympics. Swimmer Natalie Coughlin came from UC Berkeley -- a school that has produced multiple famous swimmers, including Nathan Adrian and Caitlin Leverenz.
Needless to say, these schools are pretty proud to claim such accomplished Olympians.
