Amidst record low ratings, Time Warner-owned CNN reportedly has major changes coming its way.

Time Warner chief Jeff Bewkes recently told reporters that he was "not happy with CNN's ratings performance and...focused on fixing it."

In addition to a complete management shake-up, which saw the departure of CNN chief Jim Walton last week, Bewkes alluded to programming changes as well, saying that CNN shows need to be broadcast in a "...compelling and more engaging way."

Bewkes comments came shortly after CNN posted its July ratings. Though the network was down double digits from this time last year, the ratings were up from last month. CNN hit a 21-year ratings low in the second quarter, and has been firmly situated in third place behind MSNBC and Fox News. In April, the network posted an 11-year low in total viewers, followed by a 20-year prime time low in May.

Earlier this year, rumors swirled that former NBC Universal chief Jeff Zucker was on the short list to lead CNN to better ratings.
