NEW YORK — A New York City woman shopping for a bottle of Korean rice wine took home a little something extra – an $85 million Mega Millions jackpot.

Jin Ok Choi bought the wine and the lucky quick-pick ticket on July 1 at a Staten Island liquor store.

She said she "was just shocked" as she picked up her check on Wednesday.

She opted to taken a lump sum payout, giving her $40.4 million after taxes.

The lucky winning numbers were 3, 4, 24, 36, 52 and the Mega Ball was 45, according to CBS.

Tony Lau, the owner of Empire Wine and Liquor on Richmond Hill Road, where the winning ticket was sold, will receive $10,000 for selling the ticket to Choi.

According to The New York Daily News, the 54-year-old Choi would only say that she wanted to "upgrade" her life and buy a condo that's a "little bigger."

28-year-old William Sena, a six-year veteran of the NYPD, also won a million dollar ticket, The Staten Island Advance reports. Sena, who lives in Brooklyn, bought the ticket while visiting his brother in Shore Acres. According the Advance, "the award is $50,000 a year for 20 years, and he'll take home a net $31,152 a year until 2031." He says he will keep his job at the NYPD.

In April, New York lost out on the record-setting $640 million Mega Millions jackpot. (Illinois, Kansas and Maryland got lucky). 17 New Yorkers, however, came in second place, winning tickets worth $250,000. Ten of those tickets were bought right here in the Big Apple.
