'Nobody Walks' Trailer: Lena Dunham Writes Relationship Drama For John Krasinski, Olivia Thirlby

There was a time -- after "Juno" but before "The Wackness" -- when it seemed like Olivia Thirlby was going to be the next Hollywood It-Girl. Unfortunately for fans, that moment never really materialized, though through no fault of Thirlby. The 25-year-old actress has done solid work in a variety of films in recent years, ranging from "No String Attached" to "Margaret."

All of which makes "Nobody Walks" seem like such an interesting entry into 2012's catalogue of indie relationship dramedies: It could provide Thirlby with her best role yet and give her that long-awaited breakout. Well, that and the fact that it was co-written by Lena Dunham.

Working with Ry Russo-Young, Dunham wrote the script for "Nobody Walks," which debuted at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year to strong reviews (it won a Special Jury Prize at the prestigious festival). Thirlby stars as a 23-year-old New Yorker who moves to Los Angeles to finish her art film and simultaneously cozy up to the very-married guy she's crashing with (played by John Krasinski, in a part that feels more "Brief Interviews With Hideous Men" than Jim Halpert). Rosemarie DeWitt and Justin Kirk co-star, just to make "Nobody Walks" even more of an indie lover's dream, but Thirlby is the one to watch. At the very least, this has to be a better showcase for her talents than "The Darkest Hour," right?
