Happy birthday, Ryan Lochte! The eleven-time Olympic medalist swimmer turns the big 28 on Friday, capping off his successful 2012 Olympics run by inching closer to 30.

Though Ryan's been making the controversy rounds lately with his apparent penchant for one-night stands, his patriotic grill and his, er, lack of interview finesse, we noticed that few were calling attention to one of Lochte's most signature attributes: his outrageous style.

Yes, it's true. The swimmer, who even said he wants to be a clothing designer, is something of a style maven (is "maven" the right word?) like his idol Lil' Wayne, donning a host of neon printed bathing suits over the years. He's also a fan of the outrageous belt buckle -- who knew? --, denim blazers over printed tops, bright sneakers, animal print and wearing his hair in a long mop of curls.

  • Olympic Swimmer Ryan Lochte Wants to Be a Designer

    Three time Olympic gold medalist Ryan Lochte has achieved most of his dreams, which means he's ready to pursue his real passion, designing. He confesses he has over 130 pairs of shoes and would rather talk about fashion than swimming. He said he "hates talking about swimming" and doesn't want to be stuck in the swimming world. He's expected to qualify later this month for several 2012 Olympic Games events.
