'Bar Rescue': Two Frat Buddies Open A Bar Filled With Maggots, Droppings And A Dead Rat (VIDEO)

'Bar Rescue': College Buddies Have Dead Rat In Kitchen

Two college buddies and frat brothers decided to live their dream and open up a bar on "Bar Rescue" (Sun., 9 p.m. ET on Spike). The problem is that the cleanliness of the bar was about what one might expect from two guys who partied together in college. In other words, it was disgusting.

The crown jewel of the mess wasn't the mouse droppings, grease everywhere, or even the maggots. Behind a broken freezer, there was a dead rat that Jon Taffer suspected had been there at least six months.

Taffer and his crew, though, did a great job of cleaning it up. They even gave it a clever new name: Murphy's Law.

But, according to Baltimore Magazine, the bar closed up a few months after the show filmed there and a journalist for the magazine didn't seem impressed with the new bar that opened up, writing, "Pretty much all of the pizzazz and personality of the bar was gone."

Taffer told the Baltimore Sun on August 3 that he understands "they sold it and got their money back."

Catch new episodes of "Bar Rescue" every Sunday at 9 p.m. ET on Spike.
