'The Hobbit' Trailer: Watch 4 Seconds Of New Footage (VIDEO)

WATCH: 4 Seconds Of New 'Hobbit' Footage

At first glance, this newly released "Hobbit" trailer might not look all that different from the first one. But upon a closer inspection, you might be able to spot three -- yes, only three -- new scenes. Don't worry, you'll still be able to hear "Over the Misty Mountains Cold".

Thanks to Tolkien superfans, TheOneRing.net, here are the three recently added scenes:

0:23: Bilbo’s reaction to Gandalf’s arrival
1:57: Bilbo hiding behind a tree in Mirkwood
1:59: Gandalf, the dwarves and Bilbo running through the forest

Peter Jackson's "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" follows Bilbo Baggins and his adventure to reclaim the Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor from the dragon Smaug. Baggins, who is played by Martin Freeman, is joined by Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage), Oakenshield's band of Dwarf warriors, and Gandalf the Grey (Sir Ian McKellen). Andy Serkis returns as Gollum. Orlando Bloom, Elijah Wood, and Cate Blanchett return in small parts to reprise their roles as Legolas, Frodo, and Galadriel, respectively.

Jackson recently confirmed "The Hobbit" will become a trilogy, with the third film slated for a summer 2014 release date.

"We were really pleased with the way the story was coming together, in particular, the strength of the characters and the cast who have brought them to life," the director wrote on his Facebook page. "All of which gave rise to a simple question: Do we take this chance to tell more of the tale? And the answer from our perspective as the filmmakers, and as fans, was an unreserved ‘yes.'"

Meanwhile, "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" arrives on Dec. 14, and "The Hobbit: There And Back Again" is out on Dec. 15, 2013.
