'All You Need Is Love:' Olympic Stadium Sings Beatles Song At 2012 London Summer Games (VIDEO)

Olympic Stadium Sings 'All You Need Is Love'

The 2012 London Olympics is about competition, but it's also about community. Although athletes vie to beat each other on the field, the spirit of international togetherness that brings them to the games is ever-present.

And sometimes it rises to the forefront in unexpected ways.

In this video, the crowd at Olympic Stadium joins together to sing the Beatles' "All You Need Is Love." The sing-along, which took place on Saturday, is a fantastic, reaffirming moment from an Olympics that's been marred by doping, disqualifications, downpours and disappearances.

The press dubbed the evening "Super Saturday," in honor of the British Olympic team's performance. That night, three British athletes -- Mo Farah, Jessica Ennis and Greg Rutherford -- won gold medals in the space of 44 minutes.

And although the crowd was rooting for the home team, the enthusiasm was felt and appreciated by athletes from other countries.

"They were awesome for all of us. Not just the British," American long-jumper Will Claye told the Associated Press.
