No matter how many French macarons or buttercream cupcakes you try (and swoon over), nothing can take the special place in our hearts when it comes to brownies. While brownies require no actual pastry-baking skills -- 5-year-old kids can make them with nothing more than a bowl and a plastic spatula -- they satisfy a nostalgic craving for something sugary that's rich with chocolate.

We love that brownie recipes give you a whole lot of reward with little to no stress to make. And while we'll never get tired of a straight-up chocolate brownie, we also like that there are a million variations we can make with them. Check out the 35 we found below.
