Driver Enrique Linares Dies After Car Flies Into North Miami Beach Nursing Home (VIDEO)

WATCH: Car Slams Into Nursing Home, Driver Killed

A North Miami Beach driver is dead and four elderly people were taken to hospital after a car flew into a nursing home early Wednesday morning.

28-year-old Enrique Linares was traveling about 80 miles an hour near 167th Street and West Dixie Highway when his car struck a curb and launched into the Watercrest Care Center Nursing Home between the first and second floors, according to WSVN.

NBC 6 reports that the red Honda Prelude was lodged in the side of the building when first responders arrived, though it has since been removed and investigators are examining the building's structure.

Four of the home's 90 patients suffered non-serious injuries from debris and a whole wing had to be evacuated. Relatives of Linares who showed up to the scene were distraught.

"We love him dearly," one told WSVN, "and we're just asking everyone to pray that everyone inside the building is OK."
