Although we like to think of celebrities as always walking around in an invisible bubble, impervious to the dangers of real life, many have had their fair share of scary near-death experiences.

In fact, some have experienced serious brushes with mortality -- from a quasi-electrocution and a monthlong coma to an emergency plane landing and a severe case of malaria -- reminding us that celebrities are, of course, still human.

Both Leonardo DiCaprio and Johnny Depp have felt their hearts skip a beat when their planes malfunctioned miles above the ground, Sharon Stone saw a "vortex of white light" when she tore an artery at the base of her skull and Jane Seymour learned the hard way that she was allergic to penicillin.
