'Who The (Bleep) Did I Marry?': Man Poisons Wife With Arsenic

The Kohlers looked like the perfect couple. Donna and Jim had been married since the '70s, and as far as she knew, they were deeply in love. He even stood by her side in 1991 when she started getting sick, taking care of her as her mysterious illness impacted her more and more. But there was a dark side to her malady, as viewers learned on "Who the (Bleep) Did I Marry" (Wed., 9 p.m. ET on ID).

Doctors were baffled by the various and severe symptoms Donna had, culminating in seizures and paralysis from the nose down. A fortuitous occurrence cleared things up, though. Donna's nurse overheard a sexually charged conversation between Jim and someone else, and Jim mentioned arsenic.

So they tested Donna for arsenic, and found seven to 10 times the lethal level in her boy. Turned out, Jim had taken out a $600,000 life insurance policy on her and was cheating on her with several women. It took major physical therapy and rehab to get Donna back up and healthy again.

When it all came out, Jim went to jail for two consecutive life sentences. Donna has since remarried and found love that she can believe in.

"Who the (Bleep) Did I Marry?" airs every Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET on ID.
