Judd Apatow Talks 'Girls,' Lena Dunham, Awkard Sex Scenes

Judd Apatow: People Are 'Too Prudish' About 'Girls'

Too squeamish for "Girls"? Executive Producer Judd Apatow has a thing or two to say about that.

"[Lena Dunham] and I both agree that people are way too prudish about "Girls,'" Apatow told THR. "It's ridiculous that at this stage of the human journey, someone with their top off or pants off is going to give someone a heart attack. Also, I think people feel bad about themselves when everyone they see on TV looks like a Victoria's Secret model. Personally, I've never had six-pack abs, and I've tried. I've always looked more like Norm from 'Cheers.'"

The shocking, cringe-inducing sex scenes on "Girls" have been a much-discussed topic since the HBO series premiered in April, but people aren't complaining much -- not even the actress' parents.

In fact, Allison Williams' dad Brian Williams said he felt "unmitigated joy" watching Marnie's "awkward sex scenes" in an interview with Vulture.

Let's hope all parents are responding like that ... ?

"Girls" returns to HBO in January 2013 and take a look at the most awkward TV sex scenes from the 2012-2013 season below.
