Obama Wisconsin Team Preparing 'Minute-By-Minute Plan' If Paul Ryan Gets Chosen As Mitt Romney's VP

There's still no word on whom Mitt Romney will pick as his running mate. But with Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) frequently mentioned in the press as a likely choice, President Barack Obama's campaign team in Wisconsin is getting ready.

According to an internal Obama campaign email, obtained by Daniel Bice of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, aides are preparing a detailed response plan to use in the event that Romney picks Ryan:

"I'm sure you’ve all seen reports and speculation about Rep. Paul Ryan being named to the ticket and many, if not all of you, have heard from us already about the plans we have in place in the event Mr. Ryan is chosen," wrote Joe Zepecki, the Wisconsin communications director for Obama for America.

Zepecki told the so-called Wisconsin Truth Team - made up of prominent and elected Democrats - to keep their lips zipped about Ryan for now, refraining even from discussing him on Twitter, Facebook and other social media.

But all of that will change when Romney makes his choice.

"At that time we will provide targeted research, topline messaging, recommended social feed content and further guidance," Zepecki wrote in the email.

"It is essential that all of us are on the same page when it comes to laying out the clear choice Wisconsin voters will face this November and a key component of that is how we respond to Mr. Romney's upcoming selection."

A source close to the Obama campaign told Bice that the strategy is "an almost a minute-by-minute plan."
