'Flip Men': Hoarded House Explodes With Team Inside

On the latest episode of "Flip Men(Sun., 10 p.m. ET on Spike) Mike and Doug thought they had a steal when they shelled out $67,000 for a home that looked great on the outside. But what that view didn't reveal was that they'd accidentally bought a hoarder's home, and the interior was packed floor-to-ceiling with stuff. That meant a much more massive clean-up than they could have anticipated.

It proved to be only the first surprise of the project. After they'd gotten the hoard removed, they were working in the house when an explosion rocked them and the camera crew. Upon inspection, they discovered that the water heater had exploded.

Apparently, the hoard had jammed the pressure release valve, meaning it was just a ticking time bomb waiting to go off. Fortunately no one was hurt in the blast.

While the guys did manage to turn a small profit on the flip, the $12,000 wasn't even half the $30,000 they told HuffPost TV is ideal. Still, after all the surprises the project had for them, turning a profit at all was definitely a huge positive.

"Flip Men" buys and sells every Sunday at 10 p.m. ET on Spike.
