"Tanorexia" may have just claimed another for its own.
On Aug. 9, Louisville police arrested 27-year-old Katrina Jackson at a Kentucky tanning salon on multiple drug-related charges after she lingered too long while getting her bronze on.
Employees at Sun Tan City grew concerned after Jackson did not emerge from her tanning station 10 minutes after her 20-minute tan cycle was supposed to have ended, according to the Courrier-Journal.
After another 30 minutes in which salon staff tried unsuccessfully to communicate with Jackson by knocking on her door, cops were brought on the scene.
Authorities eventually made contact with the UV ray worshipper. When questioned by officers, Jackson slurred her speech and could not keep her balance, WHAS-11 reported.
She was also unable to tell officers what day it was, according to WLKY.
Officers searched the suspect's belongings. A mirror with white residue on it was found in Jackson's purse.
Police ID'd the substance as cocaine, according to WLKY.
Jackson was charged with several crimes, including possession of a controlled substance, public intoxication and disorderly conduct, according to WHAS-11.
Tanning salon crimes have made the news quite a bit lately.
In May, "Tanning Mom" Patricia Krentcil was famously arrested for allegedly putting her 5-year-old daughter in a New Jersey tanning booth.
Krentcil's accusation of child endangerment prompted a fierce public outcry. The beleaguered mom took to the airwaves to help clear her name, telling critics to "step off and step away."
Less than two months later, Betsy Brashear was apprehended after allegedly luring a teenage boy into a tanning both and kissing him.
