Scotty McCreery Falls Off Stage, Blames Prankster Brad Paisley (VIDEO)

WATCH: Scotty McCreery Falls Off Stage

"American Idol" Season 10 winner Scotty McCreery is just starting his country music career, but he has already slipped up. Literally.

While opening for fellow country crooner Brad Paisley in Bethel, N.Y., on Friday night, McCreery fell off the stage while singing Travis Tritt's "T.R.O.U.B.L.E." The 18-year-old was getting into his performance and did not watch where he was going. Before he knew it, he had stepped off the platform at the Bethel Woods Center of the Arts and fallen into the crowd, country music blog The Boot reported.

McCreery quickly pointed the finger at his prank-loving tourmate:

Paisley might be a notorious prankster, but McCreery handled it all in good fun, tweeting fans a link to a video of his fall "for anybody who wants a good laugh."

On Saturday, Paisley made sure that his clumsy tourmate stayed on track, festooning the stage with bright orange traffic cones.

McCreery previously pranked Paisley, dressing up like the 39-year-old "American Saturday Night" singer.

“I went from being an average teenager working at a grocery store in the country, playing music every night and doing what I loved,” he told Great American Country. “It’s been a huge blessing — I learned a lot of things last year about the industry and about myself. My life has changed, but I think the person I am pretty much stayed the same.”

McCreery, who just graduated from high school, will be continuing his education in the fall at North Carolina State University.
