'United Bates of America': Family Welcomes 19th Child

In a conceptual spin-off of their popular series "19 Kids & Counting," TLC has granted another huge family their own series. The Bates family first appeared with the Duggars on "19 Kids," and now they're bringing their own 19 kids to TLC in "United Bates of America" (Mon., 9 p.m. ET on TLC).

In fact, it was the birth of their 19th child that made up the main story of this premiere episode. Little Jeb gave the family quite a scare, coming into the world retaining fluid in his lungs. He spent a week in intensive care, which was agonizing for both of his parents.

Meanwhile, his mother Kelly Jo was getting anxious about not seeing her other children during all of this. "I looked at Gil at one moment and said, ‘If I don’t see my other babies, I’m gonna die,’" she said.

The scene of the Bates children pouring into her hospital room to hug their mother was both heartwarming and overwhelming to watch.

Keep up with "United Bates of America" every Monday at 9 p.m. ET on TLC.
