Thomas Arthur, Death Row, Discussed In Wrongful Imprisonment Episode Of 'Our America With Lisa Ling'? (VIDEO)

On the latest installment of "Our America with Lisa Ling" (Tue., 10 p.m. ET on OWN), the topic of wrongful imprisonment was explored. In the case of Sherri's father Thomas Arthur, though, he's on death row for a murder he may well have not committed.

In an opinion piece for The New York Times, Andrew Rosenthal detailed the list of reasons there should be reasonable doubt in Arthur's case. These include the lack of any physical evidence linking him to the murder, no murder weapon being found, and the fact that another man confess to the crime while under oath.

Meanwhile, Arthur and his attorneys have requested DNA testing of a wig worn by the killer that could definitively damn him or declare him innocent, but authorities have opposed it.

Ling spoke with his daughter Sherrie, headed for his fifth execution date. She's had her outfit for the occasion picked out since the first date was set. At the end of the episode, however, disputes over lethal injection granted Arthur a stay of execution. Meanwhile, his attorneys continue to fight for additional testing in hopes of proving his innocence before he is executed.
