Ed Schultz took some a moment to update viewers on his wife, Wendy's, cancer diagnosis last week.

Schultz had been off both his MSNBC and radio shows for a couple weeks after his wife had been diagnosed with ovarian cancer last month. Schultz seemed to break down when he announced the devastating news on his radio show.

The MSNBC host returned to his chair last week and thanked viewers for their support. "On behalf of my wife and family, I would like to thank all of you for your outpouring of support, love and prayers," he said. "The power of prayer is very strong and it's been a rough two weeks for my family."

Schultz described his wife as a "woman of strength" and said that she has a long recovery of chemo therapy ahead of her. "She's going to beat this disease, ovarian cancer, and with your help. We certainly appreciate it," he said.
