Burger King Soft Serve Deal: Only 50 Cents For Vanilla Ice Cream Until August 31

From August 17 until August 31, Burger King is offering its vanilla soft serve for only 50 cents. It is available in a cone or cup.

The item is on the regular menu but usually for more than 50 cents -- prices vary from store to store. However, if you want the bacon sundae -- which is made with the vanilla soft serve -- you're still going to have to pay full price.

This current promotion is one among several "value" items at Burger King. The chain is also testing a $1 bacon burger. Check out a store locator here.

A friend used to love the frozen shakes from another fast food chain until he found out the way they keep it" frozen" is they add edible polyurathane to keep it stiff. He stopped buying it after he found out what the key ingredient is.

I find it hard to believe people continue to eat this substance that fast food restaurants try to pass off as "food." Do yourselves a favor... buy whole foods and prepare them at home. Save money and your health.

Is it at all possible for an article re: fast food, a fast food company, ANYTHING to do with fast food including the architecture of their buildings to be posted anywhere---- without someone making the brilliant and original comment that "fast food is not good for you, so don't eat it"?

I keep thinking these comments must occur because an adult walked away from their computer for awhile, and their 8 yr old took it over.

Anyone reading HP articles and either making comments or reading them, KNOWS fast food is not healthy.

So, what IS your point in trotting out such comments?

What are you angry at, really?  It certainly isn't my benign comment.  Perhaps certain physical inadequacies?  Mother issues?  Can't seem to get a girlfriend?  Perhaps it is a problem with reading comprehension, because YES, people still think much of what is sold at fast food restaurants is healthy.

It is NOT "Ice cream", it is a product designed to vaguely resemble actual Ice cream. This product is NOT food, it just resembles food (food is, by definition, actually GOOD for your body) Check out the book "Food Matters". It really DOES... Matter.

Yeah but you know what? It's only 170 calories, made with reduced fat milk and it tastes really refreshing and delicious. If it were real ice cream it would be an overbloated calorie monster and you would be incessantly complaining about THAT, wouldn't you?. People like you aren't going to be happy until you can force the entire world to eat exactly what YOU eat

Kaila, Welcome to your choices. It makes no (0) difference to me what you eat ... or don't. The problem is, as good a some folks think it tastes it is still pure chemicals and sugar. The problem I have with it (and I loved McD until they started "treating" their meat with ammonia in the 1981) is that to me the chemicals they add gives the product an after-taste of diesel fuel. I AM annoyed with the "food" industry because of how they abuse ("fortify" or "improve") our food into something that is actually poisonous to our bodies.

You don't need to change what you do for me or anyone else. With that said I demand REAL food that won't poison me, or make me sick, in the name of profit. In the 1970s in high school we had 1 (ONE) diabetic and 4 (four) overweight kids in a class of 2000, with no one over 210 lbs (and they were football players). What are the numbers now? 20 and 60? If you aren't willing to look at the information you could end up as a statistic. That's OK by me, but under my morals I MUST sound off. Best of life to ya, and enjoy your choices!

Rather than just trying this "soft serve" out at this new trial run cheaper price, I'd be more interested in learning if it is--in fact- ice cream- made from milk and other natural ingredients. Lately every chain drive through I've tried - (except notably Jack in the Box) is using some artificial ingredients that freeze and look like ice cream but are really just chemicals. Of equal note is that these same chains call these frozen "treats" such terms as "Soft Serve" - deliberately avoiding telling you that they aren't real ice cream at all. Mc Donalds' "shakes" are another one of these phony material drinks that allude to being made from real milk and ice cream - and aren't, and once again they leave off the description of calling their product "milk shakes" since they in fact - aren't.

So... Burger King - is your "Soft Serve" Real Ice Cream, or just an imitation?

They are still making a killing and getting every stoner in a 30 mile radius of each location coming in because they can get a chicken sandwich and an ice cream for less than they can at McD's. It's going to make them a ton of money, so they should just keep it at 50 cents.

I was about to write "still to expensive" and that's because I know it cost them almost zero. same with coca cola ( or is it pepsi that they serve ) . The buy those bags of sirup , most of them cost no more than 40 dollars and that alone is enough to quench the thirst of a stadum of 20k people . I kid you not.

I worked in foodservice. I was always amazed at how long those bags last. I remember one of my managers said a 20 ounce beverage only costs the restaurant 3cents--that's including overhead such as, water filtration, syrup, ice, dishwashing for clean glasses. etc. The $1.29 or so we charged for soft drinks (at a sit-down Applebee's type of place) was about $1.26 profit--especially since members of waitstaff hardly make any money besides tips.

Burger King's cones are much better than McDonald's. McDonald's are smaller, and so soft they drip all over the place!
