Wounded Veterans Reserved Parking Implemented In North Carolina County

County Implements Reserved Parking For Wounded Vets

The community of Onslow County, N.C. is taking strides to make life easier for wounded service members.

The home of three major United States Marine Corps bases recently designated a number of parking spaces as "reserved wounded warrior parking," according to FOX News.

"It seemed quite simple to us," Jeff Hudson, County Manager of Onslow County, N.C., said. "Every day we live among our military that defend our freedoms. They've given so much for us. This is just a small gesture to help them."

The addition of these VIP spots was inspired by an identical gesture at a local Walmart. They will be implemented at the tax office, health department, multipurpose complex, and airport, JDNews.com reports.

Inhabited by around 45,000 active duty troops, the community is sure to greatly benefit from this addition, but Hudson expresses hope that their efforts will prove infectious.

"I hope that people will remember that those persons that have given so much in terms of years of their lives in service, and then have been wounded in combat for us...deserve assistance from the rest of our country."
