Andy Reid, Cullen Jenkins Argument: Eagles Coach, Player Get Heated On Sideline Against Patriots (VIDEO)

With Michael Vick taking hard hits from the opposing defense and ESPN catching a heated sideline argument, there was plenty of drama to temper any joy from the Philadelphia Eagles' 27-17 preseason win over the New England Patriots.

Vick lasted just six plays in the game before absorbing a hard hit and leaving for x-rays (negative) on his ribs. Any semblance of harmony on the Eagles' sideline didn't last much longer as head coach Andy Reid and defensive tackle Cullen Jenkins got into a screaming match on the sideline. Reid appeared to be scolding the first-team defense after a long Patriots' scoring drive when Jenkins got up off the bench and began arguing back. The two were separated and later downplayed the incident.

"He comes at you. He wants to get the best out of you," Jenkins told The Associated Press after the game. "Obviously, that's not the way I should have handled it, but you just get emotional."

The longtime coach of the Eagles used the same word to characterize the heated exchange on the sideline that was caught by ESPN cameras during the broadcast.

“It’s an emotional game. He was fired up. I was fired up,” Reid told the Philadelphia Inquirer after the game. “Those things happen.”

For Reid, this preseason game may have been more emotional than most as it was preceded by a moment of silence for his eldest son, Garrett, who recently died at the team's preseason training camp.
