At only 25 years old, Katie was certainly dealing with a lot of issues on "Intervention" (Mon., 9 p.m. ET on A&E). She'd dropped out of college, and was an alcoholic. She'd turned to prostitution in order to make money to buy alcohol, but even that wasn't the whole story.
For the past 12 years, Katie had also been battling bulimia, talking on the show about the rush of pleasure she gets from vomiting. To top it all off, she was dating a man 30 years her senior she'd met while dancing at a strip club.
At one point, Katie was in college with a real future, but she threw it all away. Finally, she was able to reveal that she'd been raped while in college, and that's why she'd dropped out and spiraled so deep into her addictions.
Katie agreed to go to treatment, but sadly she relapsed after getting out. Her mother suffered from alcoholism as well, and also went to treatment, but she left early. Not all stories have happy endings, but Katie is still working on her sobriety, so supporters can keep hope alive that she'll come through this dark chapter in her life and find the light waiting for her.
"Intervention" airs Mondays at 9 p.m. ET on A&E.
