Odette Estate, Gavin Newsom's New Winery, Opens In Napa (PHOTOS)

It's official: Gavin Newsom does not like to sit still.

As though being Lieutenant Governor, raising a family and hosting a television show isn't enough, San Francisco's favorite expat has now opened a new winery, Odette Estate.

Located in Napa's Stags Leap District, the winery's name is a tongue-in-cheek nod to Odette Kahn, the judge at the infamous 1976 Judgment of Paris who demanded her ballot back after unknowingly voting in favor of Chateau Montelena. And with owners including Newsom, Gordon Getty and GM and partner John Conover, the winery has some serious backing.

Though the tasting room opened earlier this month, the winery is currently undergoing an extensive remodel by Juancarlos Fernandez, the man behind the group's other project CADE. The new winery will be LEED certified and the wine will be 100 percent organic. It's expected to open in late 2013.

The wine business is nothing new for the Lieutenant Governor, who founded the PlumpJack Group with a wine shop back in 1992. But even with the formidable background, we don't envy Newsom's day planner.
