Christopher J. Boyd, Homeless Man, Hands Out Resumes On The Streets Of LA (PHOTO)

A Los Angeles homeless man has resorted to handing out his resume on the streets of downtown.

Christopher J. Boyd, 44, told The Huffington Post that when he thought about how to improve his chances of getting himself a job, he realized, "I have to put myself out there."

The "Objective" on the resume (see below) reads: "To become gainfully employed and get out of homelessness."

Boyd explained that at first people thought it was prank or a joke. But like thousands of other unemployed Americans, he said he treats his job search like a full-time job. "I'm out there 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day. And then people see that I'm serious," he said.

After passing them out for about two weeks, Boyd estimates that he's distributed over a thousand copies of his resume to Angelenos.

Then, he got some unexpected attention Thursday when a photo of his resume was posted on Reddit and went viral. He told HuffPost that he's gotten one job call so far, for a marketing position on the Proposition 30 campaign. He interviewed for the job Thursday.

Boyd's currently staying at a homeless shelter in Hollywood and keeps his sleeping bag and tent with him in case he needs to go back to sleeping on the streets.

Usually standing at the freeway ramp near Figueroa Ave. and 10th Street, he is also accepting donations that he uses to print out resumes and buy interview clothes. And, he said he's seen a slight uptick in handouts since he started handing out his resume.
