This week's wardrobe malfunctions (and close calls) brought us the typical blunders but with some lethal twists. Summer will begin its wind-down soon enough and celebs are out in their barely-there summer best. Luckily, the usual string of concerts, premieres and parties didn't fail to disappoint in the risky wardrobe department either.

Whether it was Maria Sharapova's panelled dress or Rumer Willis' dangerous top, stars weren't afraid to brave skin-baring ensembles. Check out the slideshow to see our picks for who came closest to a fashion fail.

  • Olivia Munn

Olivia Munn seems to be a fan of the sheer top, visible bra combo. The actress appeared on 'Late Night With David Letterman' on August 20th in a sweet, lace top, dark-washed jeans, sexy black mules and a very visible black bra. (Pacific Coast News photo)

  • Maria Sharapova

All-star tennis player and Olympic silver medalist Maria Sharapova donned a very unconventional LBD on 'Late Night With Jimmy Fallon' on August 20th. The strategically placed sheer panelling accentuated Sharapova's collarbone and back, while her strappy black sandals completed a risque but wardrobe malfunction-free look. (Getty photo)

  • Kelly Brook

English TV presenter and Playboy model Kelly Brook stepped onto the red carpet of the world premiere of 'Keith Lemon: The Film' in London on August 20th in a very interesting dress. The floor-length, 50% sheer gray gown not only exposed Brook's unflattering white leotard-like undergarments, it created a strange ridge smack dab in the middle of her bottom that made us wince. • Rumer Willis

Rumer Willis stepped out in NYC on August 18th in an outfit that threatened to expose her in every which way. The less-fashion savvy daughter of Demi Moore wore a skin-colored tank with a plunging neckline that flirted with a side boob or bra-slip and a mini-skirt that was not particularly demure. • Sofia Vergara

The sexy 'Modern Family' star had dinner with friends in LA on August 17th in a short dress and plunging neckline (per usual). As Vergara stepped out of the car, paparazzi were there trying to expose her, but the actress had her purse and knees at the ready and avoided any kind of wardrobe malfunction. Love her! • January Jones

The 'Mad Men' star stepped out in LA for lunch with her son Xander Dane (cute!) on August 21st in an outfit that didn't exactly scream 'mom.' Jones donned a black top, black sheer skirt and black underwear. Although the star did suffer a wardrobe malfunction, we have to applaud Jones' sunglasses. So chic! (Pacific Coast News photo)

  • Halle Berry

Halle Berry was seen going to lunch in West Hollywood on August 19th in a sexy, body-hugging gray dress with a plunging neckline. The star looked casual chic with sunglasses, flip flops and a purse that she used to cover her chest and cleavage. Very clever! (Fame Flynet photo)

  • Laura Govan

'Basketball Wives' star Laura Govan donned a barely-there dress at the 2012 Do Something Awards on August 19th. The dress (which looked more like a Halloween costume, really) was essentially a fabric swatch of snakeskin-printed chiffon that only covered what absolutely needed to be covered. Govan should be lucky that it wasn't very windy on Sunday... (Getty photo)

  • Jacqueline MacInnes Wood

Canadian actress, DJ and singer Jacqueline MacInnes Wood wore a very risque dress at the Big Easy Juke Joint hosted by Aid Still Required at Bugatta in Los Angeles on August 22nd. The young star donned a sexy light turquoise minidress that was not only short but fell very low on her cleavage. She must have been using good double-stick tape for this outfit because Wood miraculously avoided any kind of wardrobe malfunction. (Getty photo)
