It's Manicure Monday time! This weekend, a few of the Stylelist editors skipped the nail salon and practiced their steady hand with fall colors, while bloggers from the Stylelist Network held on to dear summer with punchy shades to match their jewelry. Meanwhile, some of our favorite DIY nail art bloggers created designs with more colors than we can count on one hand.

  • Tortoiseshell Nail Art

"I did these tortoiseshell nails by combining three translucent brown polishes. By layering them in different opacities at different spots on my nail, I was able to create a deep, almost plastic-like tortoiseshell effect. Anyone can achieve this look by making their own translucent shades. It's easy -- just mix a caramel, a brick, and a dark brown polish with some clear polish." - Sarah of Chalkboard Nails

  • Neon & Neutral

"I love neons and neutrals and I've been seeing so many shapes in nail art lately, so I finally decided to try my shaky hand at them. It was slightly more difficult than expected, but I appreciate the (imperfect) finished product so much more. I used Essie Brooch the Subject and Bazooka." - Raydene Salinas, Stylelist photo editor and photographer

  • Marble Nails

"I decided to try my hand at marble nails this week. I dropped nail polish into lukewarm water, creating patterns with the polish using a toothpick. I then dipped my nail into the water and this was the result! It took quite a while but it was definitely worth it. Colors used: CND Dark Amethyst and Silver Chrome; Essie Camera and Sally Hansen Strengthening Top Coat." - Erica Cheung, HuffPost Style intern

"Summertime for me means spending time at the beach. I love the ocean and wanted to do a fun twist on an underwater theme.
