LATEX, Forgotten Louisville Sex Club, Discovered On Whiskey Row [VIDEO]

Forgotten Sex Club Discovered On Whiskey Row

When you’re demolishing an old building, you don’t really expect to find a decades-old sadomasochistic swingers sex club. Sometimes it just happens.

One construction crew in Louisville, Kentucky stumbled upon what was once a sadomasochistic sex club called LATEX during a project to rebuild the city’s storied and sometimes seedy Whiskey Row, WFAS 11 reports. The forgotten club was hidden beyond a room filled with thousands of empty whiskey bottles.

If the club has any plans for a revival, now’s probably the time, given increased interest in BDSM thanks to the erotic novel Fifty Shades of Grey. The book has inspired a boost in extramarital bondage in the U.K., while rope sales have reportedly surged in the U.S.

Despite the increased popularity, many clubs like LATEX are being shut down. Since 2011, officials have closed sex clubs in New York, Memphis and the Chicago suburbs.

The remnants of the club, which according to one former member operated between the 1970s and mid-1990s, offers a peek into apparently sordid events. Still in tact are several erotic and violent oil paintings lining the clubs walls. Most grisly: a large wooden rack featuring a rusted chain and saw-like looking gear apparatus.
