If fans were left wanting after the introduction of Sam on "White Collar," Treat Williams says to hang in there. The actor, who plays the role, told The Hollywood Reporter that his first couple of appearances are like a dance between his character and Neal.
They're trying to establish "some level of trust," he said. "[It] continues to move forward episode to episode and it takes a lot of interesting twists and turns."
This week, Sam was laying down the law for Neal. He may have answers for Neal about his father, but Sam isn't going to give them up easily. And if Neal isn't careful, he may not give them up at all.
After Neal asked him a seemingly innocuous question about Sam knowing his father, Sam clarified how he saw their relationship. "I ask the questions," he said. "I don't like the answers, I get back in that car and I drive away."
