Bryan Craig, Rich Center High School Basketball Coach, Put On Leave Over Sex Book

High School Coach Put On Leave After Authoring Racy Sex Book

A high school guidance counselor and varsity girls' basketball coach has been put on leave in suburban Chicago over a controversial book he self-published about sex, relationships and women.

Bryan Craig, a staff member at Rich Central High School in Olympia Fields, was put on paid administrative leave and resigned from his coaching position this week, the Chicago Tribune reports.

The resignation comes after area residents and school board members alike became aware of the publication of Craig's self-help book "It's Her Fault" last month.

The book, according to the Chicago Sun-Times, contains one passage that reads, "the easiest kill for a man is through the young lady with low self-esteem." Elsewhere in the book, Craig describes differences between the genitalia of women of different races.

"Even though I feel I’m beyond the highest caliber of men, I still have a weakness for cleavage," Craig writes in anther passage, according to Patch.

School district officials on Friday released as statement that expressed concern "about the potential impact the book will have on our students and our community" and announced that action would be taken in the matter after an assessment of the impact of Craig's actions is complete, NBC Chicago reports.

Patch notes that Craig, who also moonlights as a bouncer at a Chicago strip club, is admired by his players and students alike.
