Tricia Helfer Joins 'Community' & More TV Casting News

"Battlestar Galactica" bombshell Tricia Helfer is coming to "Community" in a role that might make Abed pass out. TV Line reports that Helfer has been cast in the eccentric NBC sitcom as a superfan of the fictional sci-fi hit "Inspector Spacetime."

Helfer's character is reportedly named Lauren, and will meet meet Abed at a fan convention in the fourth episode of the show's upcoming fourth season.

"Community" premieres Fri., Oct. 19 at 8:30 p.m. ET.

Penny is getting a new man to keep her mind off Dave on "Happy Endings." Nick Zano is joining the ABC ensemble comedy for a six-episode arc in the show's third season. Zano has made appearances on "2 Broke Girls," "90210" and "Cougar Town." [THR]
