Stephen Colbert couldn't resist the opportunity to go all-out with the communist imagery and rhetoric in the opening package for his week of DNC shows. With animations of Obama as Chairman Mao, Castro & "Dark Knight" villain Bane, Colbert saw the RNC's dog whistles and raised them a bullhorn.
But more importantly, Colbert cut to the heart of the DNC's problem. All the enthusiasm is on the other side.
