Caroline Kennedy Reveals Her Favorite Taylor Swift Song

Caroline Kennedy 'Sings' Praise of Taylor Swift

Even with the leadership of the free world at stake, the TV newsies still get around to Taylor Swift and the Kennedys.

After talking politics with Caroline Kennedy at the Democratic National Convention, "CBS This Morning" host Charlie Rose asked her, "Are you listening to any Taylor Swift songs these days?"

To which a smiling Kennedy replied, "Romeo. Romeo when I think about Mitt Romney, only." Then she laughed in a (pick one) sarcastic/diabolical/self-mocking way. (You can watch the exchange at around 4:00 in the above video.)

Not to nitpick, but Kennedy probably meant Swift's "Love Story," in which the singer, who's dating Conor Kennedy, makes several mentions of Romeo.

A little context on Caroline's Romney/Romeo retort, which might seem out of nowhere otherwise: She was asked earlier in the interview what she thought about the Republican challenger. "I don't think that much about Mitt Romney," she answered, "I think about President Obama."

See? Spoken like the daughter of the Democrats' eternal icon, John F. Kennedy. Otherwise, hearing Caroline associating Romney with "Love Story" could be kinda creepy. Among the lyrics are: "Romeo take me somewhere we can be alone; I'll be waiting all there's left to do is run; You'll be the prince and I'll be the princess; It's a love story baby just say yes."

Meanwhile, love remains in bloom for the 22-year-old Swift and her 18-year-old Romeo, Conor (Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s son; Caroline's first cousin, once removed). The Kennedy clan is apparently feeling the love, too, wedding crashing and sleepover snafu notwithstanding.

"We love Taylor Swift ... she's been a great friend and we're happy for Conor," former Rep. Patrick Kennedy told TMZ earlier in the week.

"If she wants to be in the family, she's already a part of it," he added.
