Dame Shirley Bassey, 'Diamonds Are Forever' Singer, Piles On Gold Rings (PHOTO)

This 'Diamonds Are Forever' Singer Has A Thing For Gold

Welsh singer Shirley Bassey may stand at just five foot and three inches, but the diva's voice is larger than life. Launching her career at the tender age of 16, Bassey scored her first hit in 1957 with a remake of "The Banana Boat Song (Day-O)." She then gained international fame belting out the theme songs for three James Bond films: "Goldfinger," "Diamonds Are Forever" and "Moonraker."

Known for hitting the stage in flashy fashions, we love Bassey's understated beauty in this circa 1970 photo. The award-winning songstress looks simply stunning with her big hair, wispy lashes and neutral makeup. And her gold manicure pairs perfectly with her caramel complexion and shiny statement rings. Diamonds may be a girl's best friend, but would you pile on gold jewels like Bassey?
