World's Longest Flight To Get In-Flight Wi-Fi

Long considered by business travelers to be an 18-hour respite from emails and conference calls, the long-haul aircrafts that fly between Newark Liberty International and Singapore Changi Airport are now being fitted with wi-fi, Singapore Airlines says.

The roll-out is part of a broader airline program to equip 14 of its long-haul aircraft with wireless internet. While passengers can send and receive emails and text messages, the airline hasn't yet switched on voice calling for cell phones.

Promotional prices through November are set at "$25 for 30 megabytes of data and $10 for 10 megabytes of data," the carrier says in a release.
