'Parks & Rec' Stars Hang With College Students Campaiging For Obama

Adam Scott and Rashida Jones, stars of the NBC comedy "Parks & Recreation," are heading to Iowa to watch football with some college students and to campaign for President Barack Obama.

Scott and Jones will be attending a game watching event with the Iowa State University Democrats in Ames, Iowa on Saturday afternoon. Iowa State plays the University of Iowa, their in-state rivals, in one of the biggest college football games of the year for the state.

The event is being used to recruit students to campaign for Obama in Iowa.

The Ames Patch reports other celebs have visited Iowa on behalf of the Obama campaign:

Last week, Ashley Judd and Ben McKenzie campaigned outside the American Country Home Store.

Kal Penn visited with young voters in Ames, and Ryan Phillippe passed out tickets to Obama's Boone appearance.

Scott and Jones will also swoop through Des Moines, Cedar Falls, Cedar Rapids and Iowa City over the weekend, visitng Drake University, the University of Iowa and the University of Northern Iowa. They're attending meet and greet events and visiting Obama For America offices.

"Parks & Rec" will feature several real-life politicians in the new season, including John McCain, Barbara Boxer and Olympia Snowe. McCain told the New York Times "Parks & Rec" is one of his favorite TV shows.

Scott and Jones were also stars of the 2011 film "My Idiot Brother."
