Jeff Probst: Lisa Whelchel Struggled To Lie On 'Survivor'

Jeff Probst sat down with Jimmy Fallon on "Late Night" to talk about the upcoming season of "Survivor," and its television-celebrity contestant. Lisa Whelchel may have been spoiled and pampered as Blair on the 1980s sitcom "The Facts of Life," but she got down and dirty with the other contestants. At least, she got physically dirty.

"Once she’s out there she realizes, ‘I gotta lie?’" Probst said of the actress' dilemma. Whelchel is a mother now, as well as a fairly outspoken Christian advocate. "She has this moral dilemma ... ‘I’m a Christian and a mom, how can I lie?’ And I go, ‘Outwit, Outplay, Outlast!'"

Whelchel wrote about her time filming the show on her blog. "Those days on the island were the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life. It pushed me to my extreme limits physically, mentally, spiritually."

She was joined by former Dodger Jeff Kent, as well as some former "Survivor" contestants who had their journeys cut short due to medical evacuation -- along with a batch of fresh faces. Tune in for all the action when "Survivor" kicks off its 25th season on Wednesday, September 19 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
