Kymberely Frederick, Daniel Richards Spend Honeymoon In Jail, Allegedly Left Kids Home To Get Married

Couple Abandons Kids To Get Hitched, Spends Honeymoon In Jail: Cops

A newlywed Florida couple will be spending their honeymoon in jail after allegedly leaving 3 young children home alone while getting married.

Kymberely Frederick, 30, and Daniel Richards, 34, were married at the Seminole County Courthouse on Tuesday afternoon, according to WPTV.

Frederick and Richards, who have five children, drove to the courthouse in a car they borrowed from a neighbor. Soon after leaving, WESH reports, they called that same neighbor to ask her to keep an eye out for their two older children -- ages 6 and 8 -- who would soon be walking home from their bus stop.

The neighbor, who has not been identified, says she asked the couple about their three younger children -- ages 1, 2, and 3 -- and was told that the kids were back at home, sleeping.

The neighbor then called police to report that the children were home alone.

Officials say that they found two children in cribs and a third in her bed, Fox News reports. The arrest report states that Frederick had left a note for the two older kids, instructing them to call their parents if they had not returned by the time the kids got home.

Police estimate the children were alone for slightly over an hour.

A Wednesday hearing revealed that if the couple had not wed before September 10, Richards would have been legally obligated to pay child support, the Daily Mail reports. Both Richards and Frederick are unemployed.

All five kids are now in the care of Child Protective Services and have been placed in foster care. An upcoming hearing will determine whether the couple will regain custody of their children.
