Hey girl: According to Christina Hendricks, Ryan Gosling did not say "hey girl" to the "Mad Men" star when pitching his new movie.

"I don't think he said 'Hey girl,'" Hendricks told Vulture when asked about her involvement in "How to Catch a Monster."

The film, which is set to start shooting next spring, marks Gosling's directorial debut. He wrote the script as well and hired Hendricks to play the lead after working with her in "Drive."

"There's no one really like her. She's very meticulous about every detail," he said last year during the production of "Drive."

As previously reported, "How to Catch a Monster" is a "modern-day fairytale," with Hendricks playing a single mother who gets "swept into a macabre and dark fantasy underworld while her teenage son discovers a secret road leading to an underwater town." In the film, Hendricks' character works at a club -- but not a strip club.

"Fetish club," she told Vulture. "Fetish club."
