Lena Dunham Cut Her Hair Off! (PHOTOS, POLL)

"Girls" creator Lena Dunham isn't afraid to push the envelope on screen. Now, the 26-year-old actress has made a bold move IRL, chopping off her hair into a so-hot pixie cut.

Dunham, 26, posted a photo of her hair on Instagram, tweeting, "I Miley'd the shit out of this Saturday." (She was referring -- where have you been?? -- to Miley Cyrus' recent platinum blonde hair chop of her own.)

For proof, Dunham took her new hair out for a spin in front of some tough critics at designer Rachel Antonoff's New York Fashion Week spring 2013 presentation. (Dunham, if you haven't heard, is dating Antonoff's brother, fun. guitarist Jack.) Clad in a red sweatshirt reading "I'M WITH HER," the actress flaunted her new 'do -- but is it a home run? You CANNOT wear super short hair if you don't have the face for it! You need small facial bones and a smaller, pointy chin. So Halle Berry, Winona Ryder, Keira Knightley, Victoria Beckham...they can get away with it. Let's be honest: Keira and Halle can shave their heads and they'd be hot.
But women with those fuller faces and farm girl, apple cheekbones....like Mia Wasikowska, Michelle Williams and Ginnifer Godwin....FAIL! Please, please, Ginifer and Michelle, grow your hair back out like Emma Watson is doing. And I have no idea what Anne Hathaway is thinking. Please tell me that's for a movie or something she's doing.
And Lena....no.

I think her hair looks great in the instagram photo, not so much in the other images. If she styles it properly it will work. She didn't put much effort into her longer hair, though, so as this grows out it may become a disaster. All she needs to do now is lose the 1980's inspired ensemble and get some properly fitted clothes.
