The pilot episode of ABC's nuclear submarine drama "Last Resort" has been released online two weeks before its TV premiere.

The high-intensity geopolitical thriller from Shawn Ryan, the creator of "The Shield," has been lauded as one of must-see shows of the 2012 Fall TV season. It stars Andre Braugher as Capt. Marcus Chaplin, the commander of a US submarine who refuses to comply with a mysterious order to fire a nuclear missile into Pakistan. As it becomes clear his sub and its crew are being used by their own government to create a pretext for war, Chaplin goes rogue, and takes the armed vessel to a tropical island as he brazenly attempts to de-escalate the global conflict.

"Last Resort" premieres Thurs., Sept, 27 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
