Guy Fieri's Menu Gets Rewritten During GoDaddy Website Outage (PHOTO)

Today, we'd like to thank Buzzfeed's Katie Notopoulos for being friends with @a_girl_irl on Twitter.

It was because of Katie's attention to detail that we realized yesterday's GoDaddy.com outage had taken Guy Fieri's new restaurant website down with it -- on Guy's American Kitchen and Bar's launch day, no less. Twitter user @a_girl_irl (full name Amanda Hugandkiss, thank you very much), snapped into action and re-wrote Guy's menu to save the day. But we're not -- um -- sure he really appreciated it?

Let's take a trip to Flavor Town. Here's how the action progressed.

I've also been to a couple of the Sacramento-area restaurants on DDD: Dad's Kitchen (also mentioned upthread) which was great, and Jamie's Broadway Grille which is absolutely awesome, it's become a regular for my wife and me. Best prime rib I've ever had, and I've had a LOT of prime rib in my travels...

His Tex Wasabi restaurant in Sacramento, however, is horrible. It's clearly marketed to the 20-something crowd who don't care much about food quality but do care about getting hammered at his overpriced bar. Example: We got cold garlic fries with our meal, we sent them back for another serving. I "marked" my dish beforehand to make sure we weren't getting the same food returned to us, and sure enough we got the same dish, which had apparently been thrown into a microwave then forgotten, and what returned were the same fries which were now cold and rock hard. When I complained about this to the server, she literally sneered at us. Never ever again for that place.

His Johnny Garlic restaurant in Rocklin was meh. Nothing overtly wrong with the place, but it was boring, with boring food. Way too expensive for what we got, which we could have prepared at home just as easily. Nothing special at all.

An acquaintance of mine was a production assistant on DDD and she told me that despite how he appears on camera, GF is apparently a complete DivaDouche who won't even talk to the folks who run these eateries unless it is in the context of shooting a scene. I don't know how true that is, but it wouldn't surprise me... just look at the dude's hair. It screams "I'm an adult adolescent with a raging ego!"

This guy Guy is a nightmare when it comes to the food code. He sticks his fingers in food and wears bling when he does it. He dresses inappropriately to be in a kitchen environment. As a food inspector I would have issues for the owners if he were there and it is a bad example for the food network to set promoting him acting that way. I realize that it is a show but it is still a bad example.

I really enjoy watching "Diners, Driveins & Dives". Makes me hungry EVERY time, but I do sort of get tired of his "on point" comment all the time. I certainly don't know him personally but he has become a huge success. Good for him....I guess. I personally wish the Food Channel still aired Alton Brown's "Good Eats"....entertaining and humerous.

On a trip to San Diego to go to Seaworld, we picked three places recommended by Guy on Diners, Driveins and Dives. One was in La Jolla, the other two in SD. All were friggin' awesome. We had a blast.

Guy bats1.000. But even if we struck out on one, so what. You can't expect every restaurant to be perfect for every dish every single day.

Most of his finds are great...I've tried some in Phoenix and no complaints.

It's that high-pitched feminine voice he has that gets on my nerves. Almost as much as the stupid catch phrases. But I do watch D-D-D, and get all kinds of good cooking ideas.

I went to three of Guy's recommended places on my last trip to NorCal/Northern Nevada.

Dad's Kitchen in Sacramento: one of the best restaurant meals ever.

Burger Me in Truckee and Reno: awesome real malted milk.

Gold and Silver Inn, Reno: dog food, worst restaurant meal in my life.

Absolutely horrible.

So Guy is batting .666 with me.

LOL...great stuff....guy is a great host on DDD. Not sure if his own cooking is great, but great personality.
