'Intervention': Son Struggles With Taking Care Of His Alcohol-And-Meth-Addicted Mother (VIDEO)

'Intervention': Son Tries To Take Care Of Addict Mother

A tragic tale of a son forced to try and take care of his mother on "Intervention." Zach found himself stepping up to try and help his mother out as best he could while she battled her addictions to alcohol and meth. But it was getting to be too much for him.

"I feel like you’re my kid," he told her. "You need to grow up."

Zach was also having trouble with a homeless man his mother, Diana, considered her boyfriend. It was an abusive relationship -- the homeless man was also an addict -- and Zach did what he could to try and keep the two apart, but his mother stepped in to protect her "boyfriend," and even tried to lie to Zach about who he was.

Eventually, Diana was convinced by her family to seek treatment. In rehab, it was discovered that Diana also suffered from bipolar disorder, complicating her treatment plan and recovery. She was transferred to a specialty clinic in Austin, TX, and there she seemed to do very well.

By the end of the episode, Diana was looking much better and celebrating 70 days sober. She was happier and healthier than she'd been in years; a true success story for both her and her family.
