Will Ray Romano's role as Sarah's boss Hank on "Parenthood" be a roadblock in her relationship with Mark (Jason Ritter)? Not according to Lauren Graham.

"It's an interesting chemistry," she told TV Guide, insisting that working with Hank won't complicate things. "It's another person who makes her think, 'Oh well, here's another way I could have gone. Here's someone who's had the experiences I've had and who also has a child.'"

As for Romano, the "Everybody Loves Raymond" alum thinks Sarah and Hank complement each other well.

"She is something that he's not. She can relate to customers and talk to customers," he said. "Little by little, I think they're starting to connect, and she's starting to see him for what he truly is and she's starting to see a real person."

So how do Romano and Graham like working together? On "Conan," Graham admitted it was an interesting experience.

"It's like bringing the two people with the lowest self-esteem in the universe together," she said.

Season 4 of "Parenthood" kicks of on Tues., Sept. 11 at 10 p.m. ET on NBC
