Bob Costas Rips NBC's Olympics Coverage (VIDEO)

WATCH: NBC Host Rips Network's Olympics Coverage

Even NBC's own Bob Costas is blasting the network over the Olympics.

The network was hit with wave after wave of criticism for various gaffes and editing decisions in its broadcast of the 2012 summer games. Costas, NBC's primetime host for the Olympics, tore into the network's coverage in an interview with Conan O'Brien on Wednesday.

When asked how the network did, he ripped NBC's decision to cut away from a performance by The Who for an hour-long preview of the upcoming sitcom "Animal Practice."

His commentary was scathing:

"Animal Practice" is evidently a comedy, at least we're hoping it is, that revolves around a veterinary practice and one of the doctors is a chimpanzee... So here is the balance that NBC has to consider: The Who, "Animal Practice." Roger Daltrey, Pete Townshend... monkey in a lab coat. I'm sure you'd be the first to attest, Conan, that when it comes to the tough calls, NBC usually gets them right."
