Mason Mayer, Marissa Mayer's Brother, To Plead Guilty To Domestic Violence

The brother of Yahoo CEO and ex-Google exec Marissa Mayer is expected to plead guilty to domestic violence Friday surrounding a September 2011 incident.

Mason Mayer, 33, was charged with felony domestic violence, assault and false imprisonment after allegedly beating up his then-girlfriend Kelli Ann Trent. Trent is being represented by celebrity lawyer and women's rights advocate Gloria Allred.

According to SF Appeal, the alleged incident occurred after a private party at Mint Plaza, at which the couple had quarreled. SF Appeal acquired a signed affidavit that claimed Mayer took Trent back to his apartment at the Four Seasons. Once there, Mayer allegedly attacked Trent, pulled out her hair and eyelashes, punched her repeatedly and slammed her head on the floor, and told her that "the only way she was going to get out of this is if he drove her to the Golden Gate Bridge and she jumped off."

The incident allegedly ended when a friend of Mayer's came to the front door to pick up his car keys.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Mayer faces up to four years and eight months in state prison, and according to SF Appeal, Trent will likely sue.

Mayer's older sister, Marissa, was one of Google's original employees until she left the company to become CEO of Yahoo earlier this summer. According to SFist, Mason has not held a job since Marissa's company went public in 2004.
