Who Do You Wish Publicly Supported Gay Marriage?

This week, Jesse Jackson came out in support of marriage equality. In a profound statement, he basically wrapped things up in a nutshell by saying this:

"...I would hope that people would respect people’s basic fundamental rights. If you don’t believe in it, don’t engage in it. But don’t deny other people their basic civil rights.”

Jesse Jackson's vocal support of marriage equality introduces another great ally to our fight -- along with former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura and his wife, Terry, who released this great video a few days later -- and it got us thinking about who else we'd love to have on our team. So we turned to our Twitter family and asked:

You flooded us with suggestions! Below we've rounded up the most suggested people of our discussion. You should know off the bat that the Pope and Kirk Cameron were by far the most suggested people. We're not sure if that's because many of you were being cynical or you really are holding out hope that these folks will change their minds and give up their mission to fight against marriage equality. Either way, we support you, one day we hope A pope will support marriage equality... but we doubt it'll be this one.
