Miami Indie Cinema Roundup: Arthouse Films Sept. 17 To 23 (VIDEOS)

In "Compliance," screening this week at O Cinema, viewers are asked how far they would go to comply with authority. A man claiming to be a police officer calls the fast food restaurant where Becky, a high school student, works. Whe he tells Becky's manger she's been accused of stealing money and gives instructions to question her, the manager gladly obliges -- even going as far as strip searching her in the back of the restaurant.

For Hispanic Heritage Month, Cosford Cinema is playing a series of of films directed by Latinas. "Even the Rain" stars Gael Garcia Bernal as a movie director shooting a film in Bolivia about Christopher Columbus's takeover of Latin America. As he makes the film, he learns that 500 years later, the local people are still being oppressed.
